Canadian Dance Company

When Dance Becomes Art

CORE Team

The C.O.R.E team for excellence in Mississauga dance classes

The C.O.R.E Team – officially established August 2010. The goal was to create a focused awareness of the creative and organizational needs of the Canadian Dance Company. The team met for a brainstorming summit over 3 days to offer new ideas, exchange information and to evaluate CDC’s overall excellence. The result was beyond what each of us expected; a newfound energy as an entity which has it’s own drive that we are all apart of. This initial summit lead to new ideas such as:

  •  The CDC Game Face Seminar in which specialist in nutrition, sports psychology and make-up application were brought in to educate the students and parents and better prepare them mentally and physically for a successful dance season.
  • The Annual CDC Dance-A-Thon (open to recreational and competitive students) was also reinvented by adding So You Think You Can Dance Stars such as Amanda Cleghorn, Sebastian Mersch and Jesse Weafer to judge our own freestyle battle.

The C.O.R.E Team meets weekly for 2-3 hours discussing current issues and future plans. We are so excited with the results that we have seen this year and are ecstatically driven to show you that this was just the beginning.

Allain Lupien

Allain Lupien

Director

Allain has always been a firm believer in improving the quality of life for students he has taught and people he has connected with through dance. With this in mind he felt it was time to create a core team which would have the same impact on the Canadian Dance Company that he has had on each individual dancer.

"After one year of dedicated efforts and diligent work from my close team, the results are evident that this is not only the future of CDC, but the future of dance education for everyone."
