Olivia Harty began her dance training with the Canadian Dance Company at the age of three. She quickly became a competitive level student at the age of five attending competitions all across North America, winning titles such as Dancer of the Year (ADA), and Hall of Fame Inductee. Olivia also competed twice at the international level in Riesa Germany as a part of the Canadian National Showdance team. Olivia has had the pleasure of assisting and teaching at dance intensives such as Fresh and YDAP as well as performing with companies such as EMImotion, and Aorta. She was also featured in shows for Raven Symone’s fashion line, Mary Kay, Sears, and also performed for the special olympics. She has been seen in Hakim Optical commercials, and featured in a video on the Capezio Canada’s website. She has completed her dance major at Cawthra Park Secondary School where she had the honor of personally working with top choreographers such as Sharon Wong from Alvin Ailey in New York City. Following high-school, she began and completed her studies at the University of Western Ontario, where she received her Honors Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in dance. On campus, Olivia was elected captain of the competitive dance team called HEAT, participated in the CAISA Fashion Show which raises money for The Children’s Health Foundation and volunteered with organizations such as FRESH, and CAFP to deliver healthy living workshops to elementary level students. After graduating, she furthered her studies at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and received her Registered Holistic Nutritionist designation. Throughout her studies and currently, Olivia exercises her passion for nutrition by working part-time as a clinical nutritionist at a chiropractic clinic, taking on the role of assistant to the dietitian at a weight management clinic, participating in a practitioner pilot program for Meal Garden and working closely with a sport psychologist to deliver athlete specific nutrition and strength and conditioning programs. Furthermore, Olivia has been busy spreading her love of physical fitness and putting her certification in Personal Training and Yoga to use.
Olivia strongly believes in promoting a healthy body, mind and spirit everywhere she goes, especially when working with young dancers- or "art-letes"!
