Emily Harty

Recreational Jazz , All By Myself & Dancing Machines Instructor

Emily started dancing at Canadian Dance Company when she was 3 years old, and
continued both recreationally and competitively until the age of 20. Throughout her
dance career Emily has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, Contemporary, and
Hip-Hop. Being a part of the CDC family has allowed her to train with amazing
artists, compete all across North America, be a part of shows for Mary Kay and the
Special Olympics as well as compete internationally in Riesa Germany, on the
Canadian National Showdance Team. At the age of 18, Emily attended The Yorkville
School of Make-up and Esthetics. While she was in school and after she graduated,
Emily was able to bring her creativity and love for art back into the dance world and
create make-up looks for specific routines and dancers. During her final years of
competing, Emily started assisting and teaching for both the recreational and
competitive programs with children ages 4 to 18. From there, Emily attended
Sheridan College and graduated from the Early Childhood Education program. Now
as a working Registered Early Childhood Educator and a new mom, Emily is thrilled
to be teaching again at CDC and couldn’t be happier with the opportunity to be
teaching children as young as the age of 2.
