Kaitlyn Fread

Kaitlyn Fread began her dance training at Canadian Dance Company in 1989 at the age of six, participating in the recreational, part-time competitive, and full-time competitive programs.  She was a Lead Dancer in her school’s production of The Wizard of Oz, and performed in Clarkson Music Theatre’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

After training at CDC, Kaitlyn completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English at McMaster University, and participated in the Mac Dance Club throughout her program.  She completed her Bachelor of Primary Education Studies degree at Charles Sturt University, Ontario, and is an Ontario Certified Teacher.  Throughout her time as a student, she taught dance classes at various elementary and high schools in Mississauga and Halton region.

Kaitlyn is excited to have returned to her second family and home at CDC.  She learned many valuable lessons from all of her teachers, especially that character is the most important quality in a dancer.  She hopes that all current and future students also take this away!
